Square Feet Appraisals, Inc. was founded in 2001 by Chris Miklovis with the aim to provide high quality appraisal reports in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Our clients include major lenders, local real estate agents, attorneys, and estates. Our work varies from property sales, pre-listing appraisals, and appraisal for divorce and estate tax purposes.

Chris Miklovis, the owner, started his career in real estate early in life. The product of parents who invested in rental properties in Ocean City, NJ, Chris earned his first real estate sales license in 1981. Chris was later licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as well. Eventually he hung both his licenses in Princeton, NJ and earned the title of Rookie of the Year during his first year with a regional broker.

Chris earned a BS in Finance from Drexel University, and an MBA from James Madison University, all the while having used his licenses to list, sell, and manage properties. After a stint in international business and another with an IT company, Chris returned to his true love of real estate and became a licensed appraiser, eventually becoming a Certified Residential Appraiser in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC. He also won FHA approval and has been a certified court witness. Chris stays abreast of appraisal standards, and earns at least 42 credit hours of continuing education during each 3 year period.

Chris and his family reside in Arlington County, where he is the PTA President of Oakridge Elementary School. During the summer Chris and his family can often be found in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware or on the shores of Lake Michigan.
